At one time an integral part of people’s kitchens, the wash area gradually evolved over time into a separate self- contained room. Now though we are increasingly seeing bathrooms moving back into the living areas. The Stand up collection features a universal design that deliberately avoids aligning itself with one specific location. Instead, the collection embraces the notion of using furniture flexibly throughout the home. The side table can stand in the shower, or equally next to your sofa, while the curtain can screen off the shower or also serve as a suspended living room partition. The platforms and compartments of the plateau stands make personal items accessible at a convenient height to users when they are standing up.

Thomas Schnur (*1983) lives and works in Cologne. After an apprenticeship as a cabinet maker he studied product design at University of Applied Sciences Aachen. At that time he worked for designers such as Mathieu Lehanneur in Paris and studied at École Supérieure d'Art et Design de Saint Étienne.

His work has already been shown on numerous stages of design including IMM Cologne, Maison et Objet Paris, Salone del Mobile Mailand, ICFF New York and BODW Hong Kong.
